For the first time at Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, a significant shipment of sponge iron briquette — approximately 3,000 tons, loaded in 44 wagons — was dispatched to Uzbekistan.
This operation was successfully carried out by Daryadaran Toos Company in collaboration with the loading units at the Flat Bandar (Kaveh) yard, marking a major step forward in expanding rail exports from southern Iran to Central Asia.
Alireza Nasiri Barazandeh, Director General of Hormozgan Railway, stated:
“This cargo, consisting of 44 wagons each with a capacity of 68 tons, was loaded at the Flat Bandar yard and sent to Uzbekistan for the first time.”
This achievement is considered a milestone in enhancing rail freight transport in southern Iran and strengthening international export routes.
